Using the Recycled Parts of a Computer DVD Drive for Fabrication of a Low-Cost Arduino-Based Syringe Pump

The accurate and precise transport of the small amounts liquid by syringe pump is widely used in many fields. In this paper, an Arduino-based fabricated using computer DVD (digital versatile disc) drive. For fabrication pump, low-cost electronic components such as Arduino microcontroller, a stepper motor, motor driver, display are used. tray-loading mechanism drive (close/open tray for inserting/removing DVD) was injection process. To provide necessary force movement plunger syringe, we replaced DC with driver. An code developed to control infusion Depending on dimension (inner diameter barrel length), (angular resolution), driver (microstepping mode), can be modified software. infuses water flow rates from 0.005 (mL/min) 1 maximum 10 μL difference between mean measured volume infused volume. does not require complex mechanical that conventional pumps. project provides instructions building testing enables students fabricate low-cost, open-source recycled parts less than $30. As result, will increase their hardware software skills completing project.
